He is the founder and CEO of the venture capital firm, Earlybird Venture Capital, which has invested in over 200 companies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He is also the founder of the Earlybird Digital East Fund, which focuses on investments in digital technology companies in the region. Negrescu was born in Chișinău, Moldova, and moved to Germany at the age of 16. He studied economics at the University of Mannheim and received his MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Negrescu has been involved in the venture capital industry since 2000, when he joined the venture capital firm 3i in London. He then moved to Berlin in 2004 to join Earlybird Venture Capital, where he has been the CEO since 2006. Negrescu is a member of the European Venture Capital Association and the German Venture Capital Association.
