Adrian was best known for her roles in comedies, often playing the wisecracking sidekick or the comic foil. She appeared in films such as The Thin Man (1934), The Lady Eve (1941), and The Paleface (1948). She also had a recurring role on the television series The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971).
