Jack Perconte is an American former professional baseball player who played for the Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians. He was born on August 31, 1954 in Joliet, Illinois. Perconte was a two-time All-American at the University of Illinois and was drafted by the White Sox in the first round of the 1976 amateur draft. He made his major league debut with the White Sox in 1979 and played for them until 1982. He then played for the Mariners from 1983 to 1985 and the Indians from 1986 to 1987. Perconte was a versatile player who could play multiple positions, including second base, shortstop, third base, and the outfield. He was known for his strong defense and was a reliable hitter, batting .258 with a .326 on-base percentage in his career. Perconte retired from baseball in 1987 and has since become a successful businessman. He is the founder and CEO of Perconte Baseball, a company that provides baseball instruction and training.
