Jacob Bergqvist was a Swedish composer and songwriter. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on 28 April 1887. He was a prolific composer, writing over 500 songs and musicals. He was also a conductor and arranger. He wrote music for films, radio, and television. He was a member of the Swedish Academy of Music and the Swedish Academy of Arts. Bergqvist's most famous works include the musicals "The King of the Street" (1925) and "The King of the Circus" (1927). He also wrote the music for the Swedish film "The White Horse Inn" (1930). He was awarded the Swedish Royal Medal of Merit in 1948. Bergqvist died in Stockholm on 28 April, 1967. He was 80 years old.
