Boice attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He then went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. Boice has written several short stories and essays, which have been published in various literary journals and magazines. He has also written a number of plays, which have been performed in various venues across the United States. Boice is currently working on his second novel, which is due to be released in 2021.
