James Brolin is an American actor, producer, and director. He is best known for his roles in films such as Westworld (1973), Capricorn One (1978), and Traffic (2000). He has also appeared in television series such as Marcus Welby, M.D. (1969–1976), Hotel (1983–1988), and Life in Pieces (2015–2019). Brolin was born on July 18, 1940, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Helen Sue (née Mansur), a housewife, and Henry Hurst Bruderlin, a building contractor. He has a younger brother, Jon, and a younger sister, Susan. Brolin began his acting career in 1966 with a guest appearance on the TV series The Monkees. He went on to appear in numerous films and television series, including Marcus Welby, M.D., Hotel, and Life in Pieces. He has also directed several films, including The Car (1977) and The Amityville Horror (1979). Brolin has been married three times. He was first married to Jane Cameron Agee from 1966 to 1984. He then married Jan Smithers from 1986 to 1995. He is currently married to Barbra Streisand, whom he wed in 1998. He has three children: Josh, Jess, and Molly.
