Janette Ahrens is a former American figure skater who competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics. She was born on December 10, 1925 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She began skating at the age of five and was coached by her father, who was a former professional skater. Ahrens won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1947 and 1948. She also won the North American Figure Skating Championships in 1947 and 1948. She placed fourth in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Ahrens retired from competitive skating in 1949 and began coaching. She coached at the St. Paul Figure Skating Club and the Minneapolis Figure Skating Club. She also coached at the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin. Ahrens was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1998. She is 91 years old.
