He is a member of the Socialist Party and has held various ministerial positions in the French government, including Minister of State for European Affairs, Minister of State for Veterans, Minister of State for Regional Equality, and Minister of State for the Digital Sector. Todeschini has a degree in law from the University of Nancy and a degree in political science from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris. He began his political career in the 1980s, when he was elected to the French National Assembly in 1986. He was re-elected in 1988 and 1993. Todeschini was appointed Minister of State for European Affairs in 1997 and held the position until 2002. He was then appointed Minister of State for Veterans in 2002 and held the position until 2004. In 2004, he was appointed Minister of State for Regional Equality and held the position until 2007. He was then appointed Minister of State for the Digital Sector in 2007 and held the position until 2012. Todeschini is currently a member of the French Senate, representing the Meurthe-et-Moselle department. He is also a member of the European Parliament, representing the Grand Est region.
