Jean Natal Ratsimialona is a Malagasy politician who served as the President of Madagascar from 2014 to 2018. He was born on 23 May 1978 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He is the son of former Prime Minister Jean Ratsimandrava. Ratsimialona studied at the University of Antananarivo, where he earned a degree in economics. He then went on to pursue a master's degree in public administration at the University of Paris-Dauphine. Ratsimialona began his political career in 2009, when he was appointed as the Minister of Finance and Budget in the government of President Andry Rajoelina. He served in this position until 2014, when he was elected as President of Madagascar. During his tenure as President, Ratsimialona implemented a number of economic reforms, including the introduction of a new currency, the ariary, and the liberalization of the economy. He also sought to improve the country's infrastructure and promote economic growth. Ratsimialona left office in 2018, after losing the presidential election to Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
