Jean-Paul Defrang is a Luxembourgish politician and former Prime Minister of Luxembourg. He was born in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, on 22 June 1956. He studied law at the University of Strasbourg and the University of Paris II. Defrang was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1989 and served as Minister of the Interior from 1989 to 1995. He was appointed Prime Minister of Luxembourg in 1995 and served until 1999. During his tenure, he was responsible for the introduction of the euro in Luxembourg. Defrang is currently a member of the European Parliament, representing Luxembourg. He is a member of the European People's Party and sits on the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. Defrang is married to Marie-Josée Defrang and has two children. His net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
