He attended the University of Southern California, where he studied music and composition. After graduating, he joined the band Player, which had a string of hits in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including "Baby Come Back" and "This Time I'm in It for Love". In 1984, Pescetto released his debut solo album, Jeff Pescetto. The album featured the hit single "One More Try", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He followed this up with the album Love Is the Answer in 1986. Pescetto has continued to record and perform over the years, releasing several more solo albums and collaborating with other artists.
