After college, he worked as a radio announcer in Hartford and then moved to New York City to pursue a career in television. In New York, Bishop worked as an announcer for the ABC network, where he was the announcer for the popular game show "The Price Is Right" from 1972 to 2007. He also worked as an announcer for the ABC soap opera "All My Children" from 1970 to 2011. Bishop has also been the announcer for the Miss America pageant since 1984. He has also been the announcer for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since 1991. Bishop has been married to his wife, Mary, since 1959. They have two children, a son and a daughter.
