He is best known for directing the films Red Rock West (1993), The Last Seduction (1994), Rounders (1998), Joy Ride (2001), and You Kill Me (2007). Dahl began his career in the late 1980s, directing music videos for artists such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Replacements, and The Smithereens. He made his feature film debut with Kill Me Again (1989). Dahl has since directed a number of films, including Red Rock West (1993), The Last Seduction (1994), Rounders (1998), Joy Ride (2001), and You Kill Me (2007). He has also directed episodes of television series such as The X-Files, Dexter, and Justified. Dahl is married to actress and producer Leslie Dixon. They have two children.
