John Hannah is a Scottish actor who has appeared in numerous films and television shows. He is best known for his roles in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Sliding Doors, The Mummy, and Spartacus. Hannah was born on 23 April 1962 in East Kilbride, Scotland. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, graduating in 1985. Hannah's first major role was in the 1994 romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral, in which he played Matthew, the best friend of Hugh Grant's character. He went on to appear in films such as Sliding Doors, The Mummy, and Spartacus. Hannah has also appeared in numerous television shows, including Rebus, Cold Blood, and The Missing. He has also starred in the BBC drama series New Blood and the ITV drama series The Level. Hannah is married to actress Joanna Roth, with whom he has two children. He currently resides in London.
