John L. Williams (Welsh nationalist) was a Welsh nationalist and political activist who was born on 29 October, 1924 in Llanelli, Wales. He was a prominent figure in the Welsh nationalist movement, and was a founding member of the Welsh Nationalist Party (WNP). Williams was educated at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, where he studied Welsh and English literature. After graduating, he worked as a teacher in Llanelli and later became a lecturer in Welsh at the University of Wales, Bangor. Williams was a passionate advocate of Welsh independence and was a key figure in the Welsh nationalist movement. He was a founding member of the Welsh Nationalist Party (WNP) and was a prominent figure in the party's leadership. He was also a member of the Welsh Language Society and was a strong advocate of the Welsh language. Williams was a prolific writer and published several books on Welsh nationalism and the Welsh language. He was also a regular contributor to Welsh language newspapers and magazines. Williams died on 28 April, 2005 at the age of 80.
