John Skoberg was born on 2 February, 1926 in Lougheed, Alberta. He is a Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1971 to 1986. Skoberg was educated at the University of Alberta, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949. He then attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he received a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1952. Skoberg was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1971, representing the riding of Red Deer-Lacombe. He was re-elected in 1975, 1979, and 1982. He served as a cabinet minister in the government of Peter Lougheed from 1975 to 1986, holding the portfolios of Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Municipal Affairs, and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. Skoberg retired from politics in 1986. He is currently 86 years old. Skoberg is married to his wife, Mary, and has two children. He has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
