John Trinkaus was an American economist and professor at the University of Rochester. He was born on 17 July, 1925 in New York. He was the son of a German immigrant family. Trinkaus earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester in 1947 and his master's degree from Harvard University in 1949. He then went on to earn his PhD in economics from Harvard in 1952. Trinkaus was a professor of economics at the University of Rochester from 1952 to 1990. He was also a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. Trinkaus was a prolific writer and published numerous books and articles on economics. He was a member of the American Economic Association and the National Academy of Sciences. Trinkaus was married to his wife, Mary, for over 60 years. He had two children, a son and a daughter. Trinkaus passed away on April 8, 2018 at the age of 92. His net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
