Jon Zazula is an American music executive and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of Megaforce Records, the label that launched the careers of Metallica, Anthrax, and Testament. He is also the co-founder of the independent record label, Crazed Management. Zazula was born in The Bronx, New York, and grew up in the borough's Kingsbridge neighborhood. He attended the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan. After graduating, he worked as a jewelry salesman and later opened a record store in the Bronx. In 1982, Zazula founded Megaforce Records, which released albums by Metallica, Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, and other metal bands. He also co-founded Crazed Management, a management company for metal bands. In addition to his music career, Zazula has also appeared in several documentaries, including Some Kind of Monster, a 2004 documentary about Metallica. He has also written a book, Heavy Tales: The Metal. The Music. The Madness. As Lived by Jon Zazula, which was published in 2019.
