Joni Taylor is an American basketball coach and former player. She is currently the head coach of the University of Georgia women's basketball team. She was born on March 7, 1979 in Meridian, Mississippi. Taylor attended the University of Georgia, where she was a four-year letter winner and two-time All-SEC selection. She was also named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 1998. She graduated from Georgia in 2002 with a degree in consumer economics. Taylor began her coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Georgia in 2002. She was promoted to associate head coach in 2008 and served in that role until she was named head coach in 2015. Taylor has led the Bulldogs to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2018. She was named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019.
