Jorge García Isaza was born on 2 July, 1928 in Colombia. He was a Colombian lawyer, politician, and diplomat. He was a member of the Conservative Party and served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia from 1982 to 1986. He studied law at the University of Antioquia and obtained his degree in 1952. He then went on to become a professor of constitutional law at the same university. In 1982, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia by President Belisario Betancur. During his tenure, he was responsible for the negotiation of the Treaty of Cartagena, which established the Andean Pact. He also served as the Colombian Ambassador to the United Nations from 1986 to 1989. In addition to his political career, he was also a prolific writer and published several books on international law and politics. He was also a member of the International Court of Justice from 1989 to 1994. At the age of 88, Jorge García Isaza has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
