Jorunn Kirkenær is a Norwegian dancer and choreographer who has been active in the dance world since the 1940s. She is best known for her work with the Norwegian National Ballet, where she was a principal dancer from 1948 to 1965. She has also choreographed works for the Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal Ballet of London, and the Royal Danish Ballet. Kirkenær was born in Oslo, Norway, on 4 May 1926. She began her dance training at the age of seven, studying with the Norwegian National Ballet School. She joined the Norwegian National Ballet in 1948, and was promoted to principal dancer in 1952. She retired from the company in 1965. Kirkenær has choreographed works for the Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal Ballet of London, and the Royal Danish Ballet.
