Josephine C. Reyes is a Filipino businesswoman and philanthropist who served as the president of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) from 1998 to 2001. She was born on November 26, 1927 in Intramuros, Manila, Philippine Islands. Reyes was educated at the Assumption College in Manila and the University of the Philippines. She began her career in the banking industry, working for the Philippine National Bank and the Philippine Commercial and Industrial Bank. In the late 1970s, she joined the PLDT and rose to become its president in 1998. During her tenure as president, Reyes was credited with modernizing the company's infrastructure and expanding its services. She also served as a director of the Philippine Stock Exchange and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Reyes is also a philanthropist and has been involved in numerous charitable activities. She is a member of the board of trustees of the Assumption College and the Philippine Business for Social Progress. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Philippine Red Cross. Reyes is married to businessman and former Philippine Ambassador to the United States, Jose C. Reyes. They have three children.
