Juliet Barker is a British historian and author. She was born in 1958 in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. She is best known for her book, Agincourt: The King, the Campaign, the Battle, which was published in 2005. Barker studied at the University of York and the University of London, where she earned her PhD in history. She has worked as a lecturer at the University of York and the University of Leeds. Barker has written several books on medieval history, including The Tournament in England, 1100-1400 (1986), The Brontës: A Life in Letters (1997), and Conquest: The English Kingdom of France, 1417-1450 (2009). She has also written biographies of Richard III and Mary Queen of Scots. Barker is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London. In 1999 she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Letters by the University of Bradford. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Juliet Barker was recognized as one of the youngest ever recipients of an Honorary Doctorate of Letters, awarded by the University of Bradford. Her books include "The Brontes", which won the Yorkshire Post Book Award and was short-listed for both the AT&T Non-Fiction Prize and the Marsh Biography Award, "The Brontes: A Life in Letters", Wordsworth: A Life", Wordsworth: A Life in Letters".
