June Daugherty is a former American college basketball coach and current head coach of the Washington State Cougars women's basketball team. She was born on August 11, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University, where she played basketball and earned a degree in physical education. Daugherty began her coaching career at the University of Toledo in 1979. She then moved to the University of Washington, where she was the head coach from 1989 to 2007. During her tenure at Washington, she led the Huskies to seven NCAA tournament appearances, including a Final Four appearance in 2001. In 2007, Daugherty left Washington to become the head coach at Washington State. In her first season at Washington State, she led the Cougars to their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history. Since then, she has led the Cougars to four more NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2019. Daugherty has been named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year three times and was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. She currently has a career record of 645-400.
