He is best known for his critically acclaimed films such as Kaadhal Kondein (2003), Pudhupettai (2006), and Aayirathil Oruvan (2010). He has also directed the Hindi film 7G Rainbow Colony (2004). Selvaraghavan was born on 5 March 1975 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of director P. Vasu and brother of director S. P. Jananathan. He studied at the Loyola College in Chennai. Selvaraghavan made his directorial debut with the romantic drama Kaadhal Kondein (2003), which won him the National Film Award for Best Direction.
