He is the son of Kaizer Motaung, the founder and chairman of Kaizer Chiefs. Motaung Junior began his career at Kaizer Chiefs, where he made his debut in the 2001/02 season. He went on to make over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals. In 2006, he joined Mamelodi Sundowns, where he has since made over 200 appearances and scored over 30 goals. Motaung Junior has also represented South Africa at international level, making his debut in 2004. He has since made over 30 appearances for the national team, scoring two goals. In 2000, he opened batting with Middelsex and England player Nick Compton at Harrow vs Eton 163rd clash at Lord's since 1805. In that match he got a century but the match was called off due to rain. He also played against Graeme Smith who was at King Edward High School. He was once told Ali Bacher to play cricket. Former international referee David Alleray was his housemaster at Harrow.
