Karar Samedul Islam is a Bangladeshi swimmer who has represented his country in several international competitions. He has won several medals in the South Asian Games, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. He is the first Bangladeshi swimmer to qualify for the Olympics. Karar Samedul Islam was born on 15 July 1981 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He started swimming at the age of 10 and was trained by his father. He was selected to represent Bangladesh in the South Asian Games in 1999 and won a bronze medal in the 200m freestyle event. He went on to win several medals in the South Asian Games, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. In 2008, Karar Samedul Islam became the first Bangladeshi swimmer to qualify for the Olympics. He competed in the 200m freestyle event at the Beijing Olympics and finished in the top 50. Karar Samedul Islam is currently the head coach of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation. He is also a member of the Bangladesh Olympic Association. He is married and has two children.

Karar Samedul Islam (born July 15, 1981) is a Bangladeshi former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Islam competed only in the men's 100 m breaststroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He received a Universality place from FINA, in an entry time of 1:09.51. He challenged six other swimmers in heat two, including two-time Olympians Juan José Madrigal of Costa Rica and Jean Luc Razakarivony of Madagascar. With one swimmer casting out of the race for a no false-start rule, Islam rounded out the field to last place in 1:14.93, almost ten seconds farther behind leader Madrigal. Islam failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed sixty-fourth overall on the first day of prelims.
