Ken Darby was an American composer, arranger, and conductor who worked in the film and television industry. He was best known for his work on the classic musicals The King and I and South Pacific. He was nominated for three Academy Awards for his work on those films. He also wrote the music for the television series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Darby was born in Hebron, Nebraska, and began his musical career as a church organist. He studied music at the University of Southern California and later worked as a music arranger for the radio show The Jack Benny Program. He also wrote music for the films The Robe and The Ten Commandments. Darby was married to actress and singer Kathryn Grayson from 1945 until his death in 1992. He was the father of two children, a son and a daughter. Darby's net worth at the time of his death was estimated to be around $2 million.
