He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a silver medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. He is also a three-time World Champion, having won gold medals in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1983 World Championships in Kiev and the 1987 World Championships in Clermont-Ferrand, and a silver medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1985 World Championships in Karl-Marx-Stadt. He is also a four-time European Champion, having won gold medals in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1982 European Championships in Athens, the 1984 European Championships in Budapest, the 1986 European Championships in Leningrad, and the 1988 European Championships in Varna. He is currently retired from wrestling and is a coach for the Swedish national wrestling team. He has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
