Kent Hill is an American politician who served as the United States Ambassador to Tanzania from 2006 to 2009. He was born on March 7, 1957 in Portland, Maine. Hill graduated from the University of Maine in 1979 with a degree in political science. He then attended the University of Maine School of Law, graduating in 1982. After law school, Hill worked as a legislative assistant for Senator William Cohen and then as a legislative director for Senator George Mitchell. Hill was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the United States Ambassador to Tanzania in 2006. He served in this role until 2009. Hill is currently the president of the University of Maine at Farmington. He is married to his wife, Susan, and they have two children. Hill is 63 years old. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds.
