From 1997 to 2001, Dahlquist was film commissioner for short films and documentaries for Film i Väst in Trollhättan.

1991

In 1991/92, Dahlquist initiated the work with Colin Nutley's feature film, Änglagård, as a producer along with Lars Jönsson. The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival under the title "Official entry, best foreign language film Academy Award" and received the Swedish Film Award, "Guldbaggen," as the best Swedish film that year.

1988

Next, Dahlquist worked as a project employee at the Swedish Televison, as FAD, production manager, and project manager until 1988. Note worthy for these years is the work he put into the entertainment program and the sitcom Kurt Olsson, Fådda Blommor, which was awarded the TV Prize, Rose d'Or of Montreux; The TV series Sparvöga, a historical epic. The next ten years, Dahlquist was a permanent drama producer for Swedish Television. He primarly worked with the development and production of many television dramas and series and collaborated with directors such as Bo Widerberg and Peter Schildt. Among other recognitions during these years was an honorable mention in Prix Italia.
