Laura Adler is an American casting director and producer. She is best known for her work on the television series The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and The West Wing. She has also worked on films such as The Devil Wears Prada, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Adler was born on July 1, 1960 in New York City. She attended the High School of Performing Arts and graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Adler began her career in the entertainment industry in the early 1980s, working as a casting assistant on films such as The Cotton Club and The Color of Money. She then moved into television, working as a casting director on shows such as Law & Order, NYPD Blue, and The West Wing. In 1999, Adler was hired as the casting director for the HBO series The Sopranos. She was responsible for casting many of the show's iconic characters, including Tony Soprano, Carmela Soprano, and Christopher Moltisanti. Adler has since gone on to work on a number of other television shows and films, including Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Adler is currently the casting director for the HBO series Succession. She is also the executive producer of the upcoming film The Glorias, starring Julianne Moore.
