She was best known for her roles in the films Malizia (1973), The Key (1983), and The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969). Antonelli began her career as a model and appeared in several Italian films in the 1960s. She gained international recognition for her role in the 1969 film The Secret of Santa Vittoria, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Antonelli's career was interrupted in the 1980s when she was charged with tax evasion. She was acquitted in 1988 and returned to acting, appearing in several films and television series. Antonelli was married twice and had one daughter. She died on 22 June, 2015 in Rome, Italy, at the age of 73.
