Leif Jørgen Aune is a Norwegian economist and professor emeritus at the Norwegian School of Economics. He was born on 7 June 1925 in Bodø, Norway. He is 94 years old. Aune studied economics at the University of Oslo and received his doctorate in economics in 1959. He was a professor at the Norwegian School of Economics from 1965 to 1995. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. Aune has written several books and articles on economic theory, economic policy, and economic history. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters. Aune is married and has two children. He is a member of the Norwegian Labour Party.
