Leo Rajendram Antony was a Sri Lankan politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1978. He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 18 April 1927. He was educated at St. Joseph's College, Colombo, and the University of Ceylon. He began his political career in the 1950s, when he was elected to the Colombo Municipal Council. He was later elected to the House of Representatives in 1956, and served as a Member of Parliament for the United National Party until 1977. In 1977, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held until 1978. He was also a member of the United Nations General Assembly from 1977 to 1978. Leo Rajendram Antony was a highly respected diplomat and politician. He was known for his commitment to peace and justice, and for his dedication to the cause of Sri Lanka's independence. He passed away on 28 April 2021, at the age of 96.
