Leo Stormont was a prolific director, actor, and writer in the early days of the British film industry. He was born in Dundee, Scotland, on 13 August 1860. He began his career as an actor in the theatre, and then moved into film in the early 1900s. He directed over 50 films between 1908 and 1921, and wrote and acted in many of them. He was known for his innovative use of camera angles and editing techniques, and for his ability to create suspenseful and exciting stories. Stormont was a pioneer in the British film industry, and his films were popular with audiences. He was also a successful businessman, and owned several cinemas in London. He was a member of the British Film Institute, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh in 1921. Leo Stormont died in London on 28 April 1921, aged 60. He was buried in Highgate Cemetery. His net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
