Leovigildo López Fitoria was a Nicaraguan politician and diplomat who served as the President of the National Assembly of Nicaragua from 1972 to 1974. He was born in Managua, Nicaragua, on 27 June 1927. He studied law at the Central American University in Managua and was a professor of constitutional law at the same university. He was a member of the Liberal Party of Nicaragua and was elected to the National Assembly in 1972. He served as President of the National Assembly from 1972 to 1974. In 1974, he was appointed as Nicaragua's Ambassador to the United Nations. He served in this position until 1979. He was also a member of the Central American Parliament from 1979 to 1983. Leovigildo López Fitoria passed away on 28 April 2016 at the age of 89. He was survived by his wife, four children, and several grandchildren.
