Les Blair is an English television director and producer. He was born on 23 October 1941 in Manchester, United Kingdom. He is best known for his work on the BBC series EastEnders, which he directed from 1985 to 1989. He attended the University of Manchester, where he studied English and Drama. After graduating, he worked as a director for the BBC, directing episodes of the popular series Z-Cars and Softly, Softly. In 1985, he was hired to direct the first episode of EastEnders, and he remained with the show until 1989. During his time on the show, he directed some of the most memorable episodes, including the first Christmas special and the episode in which Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) was killed off. In addition to his work on EastEnders, Les Blair has directed episodes of other popular British television series, including The Bill, Casualty, and Holby City. He has also directed several feature films, including the critically acclaimed My Summer with Des (1998). Les Blair is currently 80 years old. He has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
