Lorenzo Piani is an Italian musician, composer, and arranger. He is best known for his work with the Italian progressive rock band PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi). He has also worked with other Italian artists such as Lucio Dalla, Claudio Baglioni, and Gianna Nannini.
Piani was born in Giulianova, Italy, on 27 September 1955. He began playing the piano at the age of six and studied classical music at the Conservatorio di Musica in Pescara. He then moved to Rome to study jazz and composition.
In 1975, Piani joined PFM as a keyboardist and arranger. He has since worked with the band on numerous albums and tours. He has also composed and arranged music for other Italian artists, including Lucio Dalla, Claudio Baglioni, and Gianna Nannini.
