Lotte Anker is a Danish jazz saxophonist and composer. She was born in 1958 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She began playing the saxophone at the age of 14 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. She has released several albums as a leader and has collaborated with many of the leading figures in the European jazz scene. She has also composed music for film and television. Anker has been awarded numerous prizes for her work, including the Danish Music Award for Jazz in 2004 and the Danish Jazz Musician of the Year in 2006. She has also been awarded the prestigious Jazzpar Prize in 2008. Anker is currently based in Copenhagen and continues to perform and record with her own groups as well as with other leading jazz musicians. She is also a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
