Lou Arkoff is an American film producer and production manager. He is the son of legendary producer Samuel Z. Arkoff and the nephew of producer/director Roger Corman. He is best known for producing the cult classic horror films Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988) and The Blob (1988). Arkoff was born in Los Angeles, California on March 31, 1950. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a degree in film production. Arkoff began his career in the film industry in the late 1970s, working as a production assistant on films such as The Howling (1981) and The Beast Within (1982). He then moved up to production manager on films such as The Return of the Living Dead (1985) and The Blob (1988). In 1988, Arkoff produced his first feature film, Return of the Living Dead Part II. The film was a box office success and spawned two sequels. He then produced The Blob, which was also a box office success. In the 1990s, Arkoff produced several low-budget horror films, including The Dentist (1996), The Dentist 2 (1998), and The Dentist 3 (2000). He also produced the television series The Outer Limits (1995-2002). In recent years, Arkoff has produced several direct-to-video films, including The Gingerdead Man (2005), The Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust (2008), and The Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver (2011).
