Lou Watson was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Minneapolis Lakers and the Fort Wayne Pistons. He was born on August 31, 1924 in Indiana. Watson attended the University of Minnesota, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers in the 1948 NBA Draft and played for the team for two seasons. He then played for the Fort Wayne Pistons for two seasons before retiring in 1952. Watson was known for his defensive prowess and was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 1951. He was also a two-time All-Star. Watson passed away on April 15, 2013 at the age of 88.
