Louie Rankin, also known as "The Ox" or "Teddy Bruckshot," was a Jamaican-born Canadian actor, reggae artist, and producer. He was born on September 22, 1953, in St. Thomas Parish, Jamaica. He was best known for his roles in the films Belly, Shottas, and Belly 2: Millionaire Boyz Club. Rankin began his career as a reggae artist in the late 1970s, releasing his debut album, Original Ragga Muffin, in 1979. He went on to release several more albums, including the hit single "Typewriter," which reached number one on the Jamaican charts. Rankin made his acting debut in the 1998 film Belly, playing the role of "Ox." He went on to appear in several other films, including Shottas, Belly 2: Millionaire Boyz Club, and The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. Rankin was married to his wife, Yvette, for over 30 years. He had two children, a son and a daughter. Rankin passed away on October 1, 2019, at the age of 66. He was survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
