Lucrezia Reichlin is an Italian economist and professor of economics at the London Business School. She is a former director of the European Central Bank's research department and a former member of the European Central Bank's governing council. Born on 14 August 1954 in Rome, Italy, Reichlin is the daughter of a lawyer and a professor of philosophy. She studied economics at the University of Rome, graduating in 1977. She then went on to earn a PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. Reichlin has held a number of positions in academia, including professor of economics at the University of Rome, professor of economics at the University of Pennsylvania, and professor of economics at the London Business School. She has also held a number of positions in the public sector, including director of the European Central Bank's research department and a member of the European Central Bank's governing council. Reichlin is a member of the European Economic Advisory Group, the European Systemic Risk Board, and the International Monetary Fund's Advisory Group on Economic and Financial Statistics. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Italy and a member of the board of directors of the European Investment Bank.
