He is best known for his roles in films such as La vida es una canción (Life is a Song, 1977), El vuelo del águila (The Flight of the Eagle, 1982), and El abuelo (The Grandfather, 1988). Arango was born on 17 August 1950 in Medellín, Colombia. He studied acting at the National University of Colombia and began his career in theater in the 1970s. He made his film debut in 1977 with La vida es una canción, and went on to appear in numerous films throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to his film work, Arango has also appeared in numerous television series, including El cartel (The Cartel, 2000), El cartel 2 (The Cartel 2, 2002), and El cartel de los sapos (The Cartel of the Toads, 2008).
