Luis Eduardo Aute is a Spanish singer-songwriter, composer, and film director. He is considered one of the most important figures in Spanish music. He has released more than 30 albums and has written over 500 songs. He has also directed several films and television series. Aute was born in Manila, Philippines, to a Spanish father and a Filipino mother. He moved to Spain with his family at the age of four. He began his musical career in the 1960s, playing in various bands and releasing his first album in 1966. Throughout his career, Aute has experimented with different musical styles, including folk, rock, jazz, and flamenco. He has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including Paco de Lucía, Joaquín Sabina, and Alejandro Sanz. He has also written music for films and television series. Aute has won numerous awards, including the Latin Grammy Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album in 2004 and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album in 2006. He was also awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts by the Spanish government in 2008.
