Luis Rojas is a Dominican professional baseball manager who currently serves as the manager of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on September 1, 1981 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Rojas began his professional baseball career in 2002 as a coach in the Dominican Summer League. He then served as a coach in the Venezuelan Summer League from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, he was promoted to the Gulf Coast League as a coach. He then served as a coach in the Florida State League from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Rojas was promoted to the Binghamton Mets of the Double-A Eastern League as a coach. He then served as a coach for the Buffalo Bisons of the Triple-A International League from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he was promoted to the Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League as a coach. In 2015, Rojas was promoted to the Mets' major league staff as a quality assurance coach. He then served as the Mets' first base coach from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, he was promoted to the Mets' bench coach. On January 22, 2020, Rojas was named the Mets' manager after the team fired Mickey Callaway.
