M. P. Ahammed is an Indian businessman and entrepreneur. He is the founder and chairman of the Malabar Group, a diversified business conglomerate with interests in retail, hospitality, healthcare, real estate, and education. He is also the founder and chairman of the Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest jewellery retail chains in the world. Ahammed was born on 1 November 1957 in Kozhikode, India. He completed his schooling from the Government High School in Kozhikode and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calicut. Ahammed started his career as a small-time trader in Kozhikode. He then moved to Dubai in the late 1980s and established the Malabar Group. The group has since grown to become one of the largest business conglomerates in the Middle East. Ahammed is also the founder and chairman of the Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest jewellery retail chains in the world. He is also the founder and chairman of the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences, a multi-specialty hospital in Kozhikode. Ahammed is married and has three children. He is an avid philanthropist and has been involved in various charitable activities. He is also a member of the Indian Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry.
