Walker announced that he had remarried in 2022, his second wife is Natalie and she is entitled to be known as Lady Walker. They grow their own organic produce, on the family estate.

Walker was married for over 50 years to Rhianydd, until her death in 2021 and founded the Lady Walker Fund for Dementia in her memory. His Grade II listed family home, (one of three) is near Chester, Cheshire. The couple had three children. Their only son, Richard, is the current managing director of Iceland.

Malcolm Conrad Walker was born in Grange Moor, West Yorkshire, and was educated at Mirfield Grammar School. He originally co-founded Iceland Foods in 1970 with Peter Hinchcliffe and considered naming it Penguin, he credits his first wife with the Iceland brand name. The company continued to expand and in 1989, acquired and incorporated their much larger Southern England frozen food rival, Bejam which gave them a national presence.
