Mamodaly Ashikhoussen is a Malagasy judoka who was born on 28 June, 1958. He is a two-time African champion and a two-time Olympian. He competed in the men's half-lightweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the men's lightweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Ashikhoussen began his judo career in 1975 and won his first African title in 1979. He went on to win the African title again in 1983 and 1985. He also competed in the World Championships in 1983 and 1985. In 1984, Ashikhoussen competed in the men's half-lightweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. He was eliminated in the first round by eventual gold medalist Yasuhiro Yamashita of Japan. Four years later, Ashikhoussen competed in the men's lightweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He was eliminated in the first round by eventual bronze medalist Yoon Chang-sik of South Korea. Ashikhoussen retired from judo in 1989. He currently works as a judo coach in his native Madagascar. He is married and has two children.
